Landscaping Landscaping to the site has been implemented using indigenous species with low water and maintenance requirements . This includes island pockets within parking areas , to retaining walls on the site to minimise their visual impact , as well as along road reserves outside of the site boundaries . The design of the landscaping aims to provide refuge from the harsh Mpumalanga sun , in addition to providing greenery to complement and soften the solidity of the building elements . The clay paving bricks of the pedestrian sidewalks , coupled with palisade and pier boundary fences , optimise visual exposure into the site from passers-by , as well as linking the site to the surrounding developments through a consistency of design and materials with those of the Riverside Park Precinct .
