designs had to be undertaken in a manner to cause minimal disruption to the operation and use of the existing facilities , but on completion had to appear to be one integrated building .
The existing parking and entrances were upgraded and extended to improve circulation patterns and also to separate customer parking , taxi facilities and delivery yards . These upgrades had to be undertaken within the confines of the existing municipal road network and accommodate existing services , as well as potential alterations in the street alignments by the Municipality .
All construction work was undertaken with a minimal affect on customers and the existing tenants ’ operations and procedures .
