TOAC Delivers TABS Excellence at Junxion Park
Developed by Rabie Property Developers and designed by Vivid Architects, Junxion Park in Century City embeds climate control within its structure. Appointed by WBHO Construction, TOAC implemented Sutherland Engineers’ HVAC and Thermally Activated Building System( TABS) design in three of the four buildings, installing 38km of cross-linked polyethylene( PEX) pipework within the slabs.
A DIFFERENT APPROACH TO COMFORT Rather than the traditional approach of only treating and distributing large volumes of air, TABS circulates temperature-controlled water through embedded pipework. This activates the concrete’ s thermal mass, enabling the slabs to absorb, store and gradually release energy. This can support stable indoor temperatures, reduced demand on conventional air-conditioning equipment and result in a quieter, more energy-efficient operation.
PRECISION BEFORE THE POUR Before each slab was cast, TOAC’ s teams positioned and secured every circuit around reinforcement, structural elements and services. Each section was inspected and pressure-tested before becoming a permanent, difficult-to-access part of the structure.

COLLABORATION BUILT ON EXPERIENCE TOAC worked with Sutherland Engineers to preserve the design and control philosophy, while coordination with WBHO aligned materials, labour, inspections and testing with the concrete-pour programme. Across three buildings, the installation demonstrates TOAC’ s specialist TABS capability at scale.

The TABS solution implemented by TOAC will seldom be seen by Junxion Park’ s occupants, but it is intended to be felt every day through a steady, comfortable indoor environment. Because climate control is best built-in, not added on.
