LXX Sandhurst is a luxury outdoor shopping destination that opened in mid 2024 at 70 Rivonia Road in Sandhurst, Johannesburg. The name takes inspiration from the Roman numerals for 70( LXX), referencing the site’ s address. Developed by The Cavaleros Group, the project is a key addition to their expanding retail portfolio and was completed over a 12 month construction period. Phase 1 ran from 1 December 2023 to 25 July 2024.
Occupying the site of the former IBM campus, the centre takes advantage of Johannesburg’ s typically sunny, mild weather with an open-air, lifestyle-oriented layout. Located a short walk from Discovery’ s glass-and-steel headquarters and the Sandton City precinct, LXX Sandhurst is set within what is often referred to as Johannesburg’ s richest square mile, due to its concentration of corporate headquarters and the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.
