THE MARLOW ON MILL, NEWLANDS, CAPE TOWN
The Marlow on Mill, the first significant new residential development in Newlands, Cape Town for several years, is set to be constructed on a consolidated erf in Mill Street, close to the Sports Science Institute and Newlands sport stadiums, with sweeping views of world-famous Table Mountain.
“ Extremely well situated in a prestigious area in Cape Town’ s sought-after Southern Suburbs, The Marlow on Mill is a sensitively designed, groundbreaking building, which is set to become an appealing landmark in the region,” says Dr Andrew Golding, chief executive of the Pam Golding Property group.
“ This iconic, upmarket new development will provide an important contribution towards meeting the ongoing demand for quality accommodation in Cape Town, which is underlined by the fact that the city continues to account for the bulk of planned residential building activity in the Western Cape – comprising 63.1 % of total residential building plans passed in the province last year( 2024), according to StatsSA.”
Developed by Eris Property Group and designed by TwoFiveFive Architects, The Marlow on Mill will consist of 281 apartments with the focus on aesthetics and functionality. Versatile and petfriendly apartments vary from deluxe studios and spacious one, two and threebedroom apartments to a luxury 240m 2 penthouse, with a range of balcony sizes to suit different lifestyles.
On-site amenities will include a groundfloor lobby with concierge and full-time,
on-site security, greened seating areas, as well as select retailers, a restaurant and coffee shop, a gym and laundry facilities. The rooftop will include a pool and entertainment deck, undercover lounging areas and gas braais. There are also four levels of basement parking.
When TwoFiveFive Architects designed the building, great care was taken to break the structure into smaller sections. Introducing various façade typologies into the same building made for a more human experience. The entire building is raised off the ground by seven metres to create a lush, lively public space right underneath it, complete with gardens, a kids’ play zone and a restaurant that spills out into the sunshine.
This isn’ t just an apartment block, it’ s an urban gesture …. a gift to the neighbourhood. A place where people can meet, linger, play, and grab a flat white on the way.
It’ s architecture with its feet off the ground and its heart in the city.
