REDDAM HOUSE, BALLITO
In response to unprecedented growth and sustained demand for premium private education in the KwaZulu-Natal North Coast region, construction has begun on a worldclass new preparatory school at Reddam House Ballito. Following the successful expansion of the Early Learning School( ELS) in 2021, this new development marks the next phase in the Inspired Education Group’ s long-term vision for the campus. The R80-million project officially commenced on 12 May 2025 and is set for completion in December 2025. Designed by The Architectural Cubicle and constructed by Indlovu Construction, the facility will accommodate an additional 300 students and support the school’ s commitment to offering a holistic, future-focused learning environment. The architectural brief was guided by Inspired’ s global educational principles, with a focus on interactive, experiential learning spaces and flexible-use classrooms. The new Prep School will include a Metaverse Room for immersive digital learning; dedicated studios for dance, drama, art, and STEAM and design / technology; a resource centre; academic support venues; and 13 classrooms. A spacious canteen and dining room will cater to the school community, while a striking double-volume open piazza at the entrance will serve as both a welcoming hub and a collaborative learning space.
THE SIGNAL, CONRADIE PARK, PINELANDS
Concor has kicked off groundwork on The Signal, a new 263-unit residential block within the Conradie Park mixed-use development near Pinelands, Cape Town. The project expands the estate’ s residential offering and caters to both young homeowners and buy-to-let investors.
Located above The Pines Shopping Centre and alongside Castle Rock, Arch Rock, and Lion’ s Head, The Signal enhances Conradie Park’ s integrated lifestyle. The building features ground-floor retail, a first-floor parking deck, and six residential levels. Designed to be 20 – 25 % lighter than conventional structures, it reduces the need for extensive piling.
Piling began in May 2025, with 105 concrete piles installed, ranging from 350mm to 600mm in diameter, using a 35 MPa concrete mix and driven to depths of 8 – 10m.
Construction will follow Concor’ s sustainable approach, featuring a reinforced concrete frame with post-tensioned floors. The project also supports skills development, empowering local youth across various trades.
Work is scheduled to start in Q4 2025, with completion expected by October 2026. Once finished, The Signal will provide homes for owners and rental customers, while contributing to Conradie Park’ s vision as a vibrant, integrated residential and commercial precinct – setting a new benchmark for modern urban living in Cape Town.
