Situated in Gosforth Park in Germiston , the new Matus facility aims to seamlessly integrate client facing provisions and industrial logistics processes into a holistic experience for visitors and staff alike . Developed for Matus by Bidvest Properties , the new office and distribution centre is a complete upgrade from their original home . The facility is designed to facilitate the supply , distribution and repair of all manner of tools and supplies to the building trade industry , with a more efficient storage system for the distribution goods . Matus ’ s new facility allows for easier collaboration between clients and staff , ensuring their clients to have a dedicated collection and drop off location away from the staff interface .
The Design Designed by Empowered Spaces Architects , the design intent was to reflect the nature of the business through the utilisation of natural materials , expressing rigid connections and details throughout . Strong geometric forms guide visitors toward entrances with deep reveals and recesses , assist in combatting late afternoon heat gain in summer times , while permitting low winter sun exposure . Design elements have been positioned specifically to utilise views , spatial qualities , and the heat requirements specific to their individual needs .
