The south block facing the highway fully occupies the largest footprint possible within the confines of the building lines to maximise the floor plate . The north block is intended as a possible future expansion . It is separated from Motorola head office by a landscaped courtyard , the structure and dimension of which allow it to be transformed into an atrium linking the two buildings . Currently both blocks live individually with independent entrances . A monumental colonnade leads from the north parking to the main entrance and folds itself around and over the south block .
Design The formal design is based on folding planes creating rectangular solids ‘ sliding ’ past one another on different levels . The C-shaped folding concrete bands envelop the huge glass volumes without touching them . Concrete strips “ float ” in the otherwise reflective façade .
Brand Architecture Motorola , as a tenant , was especially interested in the high visibility from the highway , with a building that would showcase their image and support their brand architecture , working as an advertising
