up an efficient and flexible modular building on the north-western and south-eastern boundaries , and presenting a welcoming face and generous garden to the northern Pybus edge .
Pedestrian and Vehicular Access and Parking Pedestrian access to and from 2 Pybus is provided via a shuttle lift in a bold glass lobby element close to the Sandton City entrance . This ease of access promotes the activation of the public streets through walkable cities , and combined with the nearby amenities , minimises car trips .
The multi-volume lobby atrium contains a striking bespoke art piece of the surrounding Sandton street network with 2 Pybus picked out in brass shading the angled reception desk in front of a feature tiled wall , all overlooked by angled balconies from the parking floors above and capped by an unusual ceiling . From this street level lobby at Basement 4 , pedestrians are whisked up in the shuttle lifts to the main entry level of the building where the main building reception and common amenities are located .
Vehicular access is provided from the Pybus frontage at the end of the site at basement 5 , from where cars can circulate up or down within the parking floors , or even through the link tunnel to spill over parking in the adjacent 90 Rivonia property . A bank of staff lifts in the knuckle of the L-form take staff to all floors of the building . The Rivonia and Pybus approaches give the viewer a sweeping vista of the precinct as the building announces itself and views can be glimpsed into the activity within the property .
Building Planning The overall scheme comprises a regular L-form on a relatively narrow grid ideal for advocates ’ chambers . The two building wings embrace the garden below and both address the surrounding streets and buildings .
