edge defined by trees and bollards , separating the pedestrian movement from the vehicular movement , a pedestrian and bicycle lane and a bus stop .
The landscape at the southern façade of the building will complement the aesthetics and geometry of the building through landscaping in the form of hedging or planting as well as benches for seating . A terraced planter extended by alternating bands of paving and lawn complements and ‘ announces ’ the main building façade and provides a connection to the street corner .
The terraced planter species at the southern entrance extends towards the western entrance in the form of a terraced landscape . The terraced landscape consists of four levels of alternating strips of ornamental grass species . This landscape follows the curves of the building and creates a continuation and consistency from the southern entrance towards the western entrance .
Vehicular access to the basement punches through the proposed terraced landscape . The access road is framed by trees and groundcover planting .
The pedestrian boulevard along the northern façade creates a link between the proposed new office building and the existing building on the Eastern side and also provides access from the parking area to the building . On-grade pedestrian access from the building to the park and the Mall of Africa is provided along the eastern and western façade of the building . Soft landscaping strips frames the walkway and follows the same principle of the southern entrance landscaping in the form of strips of hedging , low planting and purposely designed street furniture .
