A design for the new head office for the law firm Webber Wentzel on the highly visible site at 90 Rivonia Road was prepared by GLH Architects along with the developer ’ s professional team in November 2012 , and submitted to Redefine Properties Limited for use in their submission in response to an industry RFP process . In the interim , demolition of the existing building at 90 Rivonia commenced . In April 2013 , the Redefine submission to Webber Wentzel was adjudicated as successful and the main contract commenced in November 2013 . The building was completed in December 2015 .
Site Location The site is located in the financial hub of Sandton , Johannesburg . Well-served in terms of freeway access , major road arterials , and public transport , including the Gautrain , this area is a hub of significant growth for commercial , corporate , retail , and residential tenants alike . The surrounding area offers excellent support amenities including retail such as Sandton City centre across the road , healthcare services , and education .
The site occupies the corner of Rivonia Road and Katherine Street , and has a significant presence at the highest point of the Sandton CBD box at the start of Sandton Drive . The land is well-positioned in terms of visibility within the neighbourhood , and vehicular and pedestrian access , ensuring that wayfinding is clear and logical , and that building users have easy access to the surrounding amenities .
