Pam Golding on Main is situated on the Wynberg end of Main Road , Kenilworth on the significant and busy intersection with Summerley Road and Mains Avenue .

ARCHITECT ’ S REPORT Location It is an integral part of the Kenilworth retail street environment and now commands an active presence and landmark status to the streetscape . The property is in a highly sought-after location within the Southern Suburbs area with convenient access to the public transport node , bus and taxi routes . The site now fulfils a long awaited convenience retail need to the local neighbourhood area and is a welcome upgrade of this southern bookend of Main Road .
Client Brief Pam Golding Properties first launched its business in 1976 and , soon after , rented their first offices across the road from the current site , so the area has significant history and memories for the family-owned business . They acquired the property in the early 1990s .
Vivid Architects were appointed as architects for the project in 2006 with an alreadyapproved scheme for the site . The new brief from the client , Peter Golding of Pam Golding Properties , was to review the approved plans and take a fresh commercial look at what opportunities could be realised for the site in line with their brand identity as well as taking cogniscance of the economic conditions of the time .
