Framing the Intercontinental Palazzo Hotel at Montecasino are the new Palazzo Towers offices . The design of the two new office buildings , although entirely corporate in function , extends the same theme and style as its Tuscan neighbours .
Nsika Architecture and Design , together with the design team , were faced with the challenge of achieving a grandiose architecture , interior finishes and landscaping , on a very tight commercial budget and programme . The two new office buildings are a testament to this being achieved successfully .
The Site The Palazzo Towers offices are located on the corner of the William Nicol Drive and Montecasino Boulevard , directly in front of the Intercontinental Palazzo Hotel at Montecasino . The immediate context required that the design be dealt with sensitively in order that it complement and enhance its surrounds .
The site offered excellent views over the Magaliesberg to the west and the Intercontinental Palazzo Hotel to the north . The natural slope of the site allowed a naturally ventilated basement to form the plinth level for the office towers above . As it was situated directly in front of the Intercontinental Palazzo Hotel , the architects had to be extremely sensitive as to how the two new buildings would interact with their surroundings . The buildings ’ location , scale , proportion and massing , as well as detailing and finishing , would be critical in ensuring the overall success of this project .
