The design process started by trying to understand and accommodate the design guidelines of the office park , which were very prescriptive about aspects such as the density , coverage , building height ( having a maximum height restriction ), the building position on the site ( build to lines ), the materials choice and colour palette of the materials for the building envelope ( including the colour of the glass ).
Other important site-specific factors , which informed the architecture , were the context , the orientation and the amazing views . The prominence on the corner led to the use of the dynamic splayed form used to turn the corner and the views led to the use of floor to ceiling glazing .

So , they wanted a sophisticated building that was progressive and dynamic . A classically contemporary innovative solution was the result .
One of the most important design generating factors was the directive from Investec that there was to be transparency in the building - their clients must be able to see what is going on the building as they pass through to the ‘ client
