NEWSWORTHY ITALTILE LAUNCHES NEW STONE LOOK RANGE While grey is a popular choice in many industries, including the textile and ceramic industry for 2017, stone has been a popular way of bringing nature into the home for decades. Working with the team from JMHT Quantity Surveyors, Sutherland Engineers and NMC, CLF began installing the floor with phase 1 commencing in March and phase 2 concluding in June. CLF have designed and are installing the jointless floor, which incorporates the following: • High dosage of special steel fibres
 • CLF Dry Shake Surface Hardener
 • CLF Super Seal sealing compound Afrisam were contracted in by CLF to provide the readymix concrete to the site for all pours. Starting at a fresh 06:00 daily, the process involved the readymix concrete trucks arriving on-site, where they were dosed with the special steel fibres, using the CLF Fibre Blowing machine. The trucks then move into the closed warehouse site, where they were managed by the CLF team for discharge onto the prepared surface.
Once the concrete was placed, the CLF Laser Screed Machine leveled the concrete to achieve the designed level of flatness, which is specified as FM2, based on TR34 4th edition codes.
CLF Dry Shake Surface Hardener was then placed using the CLF Dry Shake Machine, onto the wet and level concrete.
Curing was then undertaken using CLF Super Seal curing compound. This was placed onto the concrete floor one day after that section had been placed. This project saw a total of more than 4,600m 3 of concrete being placed over both phases. It also included the design and placing of a sloped ramp on all but one side of the floor. got the technology to satisfy our South African style that incor- porates nature into our homes. Now, we see the introduction of a stone look, namely Neptune. Neptune is a rectangular tile of 600 x 1,200mm that carries more interest than square tiles. As these large format tiles filter through commercial spaces such as shopping centres, they provide inspiration to home owners. Neptune has the look of stone with soft and natural washing movement across six different possible faces, in keeping with natural appearances. This large format tile is considered environmentally friendly as we now save on the carbon emissions associated with the import of tiles. Use this glazed porcelain floor tile in medium to high foot traffic areas to achieve a seamless look. www.italtile.co.za About Concrete Laser Flooring CLF offers concrete flooring technology, specialist products and qualified supervision that together combine to produce high quality concrete floors throughout the world.
