Heritage Western Cape assessed the proposal
and granted approval of the new designs with
consideration to the proximity of the intervention,
vertical height interface, position of the bulk,
preservation of the existing materials and visual
links from High Level Road to the heritage resource.
Design
The Warwick has essentially been designed as
a contemporary building with clean horizontal

lines and architectural elements that act in four
parts vertically.
Entrance
The entrance into the new development is
shared between the existing Warwick Mansions
and the new Warwick building. This shared
entrance is an important design element which
connects the two buildings visually and spatially.
