BUILDING 1 - SECOND STOREY BUILDING 1 - ROOF
connecting ablution spaces with entry and reception spaces as
well as vertical circulation spaces.
Visitors travel between floors with scenic external views. A
grand feature of the atrium space is a cork-screw spiral staircase
connecting four levels from ground floor past two office levels and
onto the roof terrace. Visual and physical connections between
vertical and horizontally connected spaces are thus maintained.
Two wings lead off the central lift core towards the east and
the south, which make sub-division and sub-letting possible until
the tenant grows fully into the available space. Each wing ends
in a fully glazed ‘book-end’ framed in concrete, with covered balconies. The executive wing commands the curved fully glazed
façade connecting the two office wings. Wide open plan work
spaces fill the voids between cellular and atrium areas. Natural
light is noticeable from all vantage points. Executive offices are
completely transparent and connected to support staff.
Hard work makes for hard play & the roof level entertain-
ment terrace speaks to this. Dave had countless meetings
and extensive input to get this space just right. A timber deck
area with a built in BBQ and covered sky-bar rounds off open
seating, meeting and milling spaces. A novel timber screen can
control access to a secondary deck for even larger get-togethers.
