Kohler Furthers Impression
on Africa’s Hospitality Sector
A
t home Sun International’s Time Square Arena and
Maslow Hotel in Pretoria feature some of the brand’s
most exclusive fittings. The fine choice here reflects
the hospitality sector’s appreciation for great design and
thoughtful technology. In fact, this
partnership between Kohler and
Sun International is as instinctive
as it is effective.
Luxurious functionality enjoys
centre stage in a Kohler bathroom.
Hotel guests are treated to a
considerate, innovative bathroom
experience that prioritises a
world-class look and feel on
even keel with the sanitaryware
innovations of tomorrow.
In a water-strained country
like South Africa technology
that respects water as our most
precious resource is not an aes-
thetic nice-to-have but a functional
must-have. At Times Square this kind

of innovation is almost ubiquitous. A

project highlight are showers that
feature Kohler’s Katalyst ® air-induction technology. This innovation
infuses the water with two litres of air per minute, making water
droplets larger and warmer, which ensures a more luxurious
experience with limited water.
Similarly, showerheads also feature RaceTrack technology
providing an even, and more consistent, spray for optimal
coverage, thereby reducing overspray and unnecessary wastage.
With millions of litres of water

tap mixers, Kohler’s Detent
Technology is making a
significant impact on
reducing this wastage.
All mixers at the hotel
are fitted with Detent
Technology, which re-
duces water wastage by
up to 50% through a built-in
intermediate stop in the mixer,
while still seducing guests with
a world-class experience.

The Aleo and
Aleo+ mixer range,
with their sleek
look and simple
lines, is another
project highlight and

also features the cutting-

edge Detent Technology.
The mixer range has SafeSeal™,another Kohler innovation
that ensures that the water does not touch the internal metallic
surfaces of the mixer. Both mixers are easy to install and maintain,
with the hidden spout-end aerator easily replaceable without the
need for speciality tools. In fact, these mixers were designed such
to allow users to remove the aerator using a coin. Other features
include anti-twist hoses and water efficiency that limits flow to
five litres per minute.
More than providing innovative product
entirely within budget, Kohler added indis-
pensable value to the hospitality industry
by conducting training sessions with hotel
facilities staff to ensure products are well
maintained for a longer Kohler bathroom
experience for hotel guests.
Both the technology and the experience
is testament to Kohler’s commitment to
sustainability and a superior user experience,
which is perfectly aligned to their ethos of
“embracing gracious living”.
Unsurprisingly, Kohler

and technological
impression with
this project,
but that is
what the
hospitality
industry have come to expect
from this venerated bathroom
and kitchen brand who continue
to be the go-to brand on the
African continent.
