Personal Experience Originally opened in 1978 as a response to the religious needs of the growing Jewish community in Linksfield , the complex of buildings have undergone various iterations over the years . As the shul was now over forty years old the question asked by the religious leaders and architect Asher Marcus was ; did the space and current design work for the modern day congregation ? As a result the shul embarked on a project to reinvent the space . As the Shul shares a campus with King David School , who use the community spaces provided by the Shul , the emphasis was also on the modern and the youth . The community element of the design was to surround the religious heart , with congregants growing and learning in welcoming spaces .
