The Linksfield Shul and Community Centre is a project engaging an existing synagogue and community space , both of which are close to the heart of the practice . The project began with an inspired vision of what the experience of the youth utilising the space could become ; a singular transformation that catalysed and informed the rest of the renovation and rebuild . By these transformations new materials , forms , and textures that challenged the more traditional understandings of what a Jewish Synagogue could be were proposed and ultimately realised .
The Vision The vision took on two forms ; firstly , as a shul ( A Place of Worship ) and secondly as a community centre ( A Place of engagement and contact for the community ); a decision
