One of the most enjoyable aspects for me of being Editor in the commercial built environment is the broad range of projects that we feature in every magazine . This issue again contains a cross section of great buildings including projects in the residential , educational , office and hospitality sectors .

The editorial process starts with identifying suitable projects for inclusion in each issue and generally takes two months to work with the different professional teams on content before we reach the stage that we can start with the design of the features , with our aim to comprehensively showcase the building at its best . It ’ s always so rewarding to see the projects finally published .

We are currently busy working on the layout of our exciting new Offices Retrospective . Following on from the success of last year ’ s Retail Retrospective , the Offices Retrospective is even bigger and showcases the evolution of office design over the last twenty years . It is fascinating to see how styles and design trends have changed , with the sector having matured and evolved , producing international standard office environments with our own South African flare .

46 RADISSON SAFARI HOTEL Radisson Safari Hotel Hoedspruit is the only international upscale hotel in the Lowveld and in close proximity to the Orpen Gate of the Kruger National Park .

54 AVBOB The new AVBOB head office is the fourth building in the Irene Link commercial office park and is developed by Abland , Giflo and SOM .

70 BRYTE INSURANCE Conduit Interior has delivered a series of transformative projects for Bryte Insurance across three major centres in South Africa , with their flagship head office in Rosebank being the most recent project .
