Nicol Corner Lighting Design Makes a Statement

Construction on Nicol Corner started August 2019 and Liquid Lighting was approached to have a look at the building and its lighting requirements

IUM and Mont Blanc are both progressive , forward thinking market leaders in their fields . Liquid Lighting met directly with the client , architects and the professional team on several occasions to design an innovative , unique and technologically advanced lighting solution .

Gym Lighting Design work initially started with the Body Action Gym . The client and SNA Architects collaborated with Liquid Lighting on some key ideas that they had seen and wanted as part of the final look . Each area was considered and designed specifically with the space and its functionality in mind .
The general lighting in the double volume space was designed and custom manufactured . These lights are a LED Hibay but with an industrial dome shape and are compatible with the advanced dimming system commissioned for this building .
Other key feature areas are the Spin and HIIT Studios . The client wanted to have colour changing LED lights that chased along the ceiling – Liquid Lighting achieved this in collaboration with their suppliers by importing a specialised Digital Flex that required an advanced programming system to be built with it to achieve the clients ’ requirements . Liquid Lighting assembled and installed the lighting in these two spaces .
In the rest of the internal gym integrated Linears were used . This included Dark Light Linear , which was very effective over the weight training area ; commercial dimmable downlights ; fibre optics and many other decorative types of lighting for the restaurant area , double volume entrance and changing rooms .
The external lighting for the gym was designed using the Relux lighting design program to ensure that the different spaces had the sufficient amount of light required and the desired effect
