adjacent buildings in its immediate context , yet at the same time it enhances these features and vice versa . As a result an architectural dialogue now exists between 16onBree and the surrounding buildings , which extends further and forms part of a greater narrative within the city .
Materials Used The typology of the apartment layouts , in conjunction with the wind pressures experienced in
Cape Town , necessitated a glazed façade within a concrete frame to be the optimal solution . Due to fire regulations , demising concrete elements or fins were created which in turn also enhanced privacy between balconies and created a strong architectural feature on the façade . The façade above the podium consists of glazing and painted off-shutter concrete .
