The 16onBree development was initiated in 2016 by FWJK CEO David Williams-Jones and Director Craig Armstrong . The building was designed by Tiaan Greyling , principal architect of FWJK Architects Cape Town and members of the architectural team involved throughout the duration of the project were Marc Chilton , Heinrich van Zyl and Cameron Sparg .
Location and Site Overview 16onBree is a 36-storey mixed-use development located on Bree Street and is the tallest residential building in Cape Town to date . The development is surrounded by an array of trendy art galleries , antique shops , artisan restaurants and contemporary bars . It is in walking distance of the CTICC , the V & A Waterfront , the Green Point stadium , de Waterkant , Bo-Kaap and the rest of the city centre within close proximity , making it an ideal place for visitors to stay in Cape Town .
The development is also ideally situated in the heart of the “ financial district ” within the CBD , connecting to major pedestrian and vehicular routes such as the Fanwalk two city blocks to the south and Buitengracht along the western edge of the city block .
