The most recently completed building in the booming mixed-use Oxford Parks precinct is located at 7 Parks Boulevard at the corner of Eastwood Road in Dunkeld . The tenant is Anglo American , another blue-chip company to complement the big-league residents already established in this district . Named Ikusasa , the Zulu word for future , the 7,500m 2 of office space on four floors and three levels of basement parking is the proud new home for Anglo American ’ s Global Services division .

Oxford Parks is a prime location with a cosmopolitan ambiance which borders on the multi-use CBD node of Rosebank . Oxford Parks is favoured for its diversity and unique blend of residential , retail and business components , with convenient access to major roads , Gautrain , and other public transport options .
The Brief The building splendidly reflects the client ’ s holistic approach to the precinct by encompassing a powerful architectural design with innovative energy-saving efficiency and a fresh approach to integrating public spaces . GLH Architects ’ brief was to realise the vision of Oxford Parks by extending the character of Rosebank and incorporating the design into a vibrant and leafy urban node with a strong focus on seamless pedestrian movement and non-motorised transport .
Urban Philosophy An integrated urban philosophy is apparent , which heightens the sense of human scale and connects activities inside the building to streetscapes with the focus on the pedestrian experience . This is achieved by activating street frontages and opening up spaces in order to mesh with the neighbourhood fabric of landscaped links , winding between pedestrian pavements and mid-block public or semi-public spaces . All parking is sub-terranean to respect pedestrian movement and safety , to encourage walking , cycling and leisure activities . Another important aspect is the promotion of passive security for a welcoming and safe environment without fences .
