East of Main is situated in Oldfield Road in Sea Point . This part of Sea Point is in a heritage protection overlay zone and the site is next door to a large park . Staying with the Victorian rowhouse theme , East of Main is designed as a contemporary extension of the heritage buildings on the street . The area ’ s Victorian style and charm inspired a contemporary Victorian design . The contemporary Victorian theme is carried through to the details of the building and its presence on the street and park is highlighted by features like bay windows and more classical finishes . Consisting of 22 units . the building embraces the hypermodern concept of compact living with ingeniously-reimagined studio apartments , incorporating sleek and spatial design , high-quality finishes , natural daylight , clean lines and refreshing palettes for a simpler , safer , more sustainable way to live . Developed by Evo Properties and Tyris Realtiy , East of Main is set to be completed by July 2022 .
THE AVANT , FRESNAYE
Under development by FWJK , The Avant is a four storey residential development , designed to possess a contemporary style with a modern flavour blending in with the surrounding neighbourhood buildings . It was of the utmost importance to break up the scale of the building with varying façade elements , in order to prevent overpowering the external view of the building . Large planted concrete portals juxtaposed with lightweight steel balconies carefully contribute to the architectural integrity of the architectural façade and the design further speaks to the investor by the use of elegant , interesting detailing throughout the building .
Overall , the architecture responds to the desirable location with well-designed living spaces facing outward towards the ocean and the morning and mid-day sun . Each of the 22 apartments include generous balcony spaces as well as floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors to ensure a seamless connection with the outdoors of this magnificent location . The variety of apartment sizes cater to promote more opportunity and diversity of users in our urban spaces , accommodating anyone from a young professional to established families .
The interior design consists of simple , elegant , modern interiors with a monochromatic colour palette with warm Oggie timber floors . The idea is for the user to populate the spaces with their own character and personality . The ceiling design is used to demarcate varying spaces and allow for a variation of lighting and the installation of heating and cooling .
The designers have focused on providing joinery that seeks to be multifunctional , provide ample storage and be beautiful enough to be feature elements in each unit . Also provided is a mini cocktail bar / coffee stations for impromptu entertaining and efficient kitchen designs and modern timber TV units .
