Sadly , in recent years it was clear that the building ’ s heyday was long past and it had become an eyesore for local residents who wanted to see the site redeveloped .
Founded by Ronnie Quibell in 1964 , the 3Arts has seen an ever-evolving palimpsest of uses and stories through time . It was of paramount importance to both the client and architects that the re-design pay homage to this rich history , and re-invent a cultural landmark for continued use well into the 21st century , in a sustainable and holistic manner .
