Well known industry leader Claytile undergoes an exciting brand transition , introducing a wider range of products to the market

The de la Hunt family ’ s history in brick making began in 1970 with Garnet de la Hunt establishing Joostenberg Brick . Clay plaster building bricks were manufactured there in the traditional method . His son , Julian , started Claytile in 1987 on a separate site to focus on increasing brick making capacity and introducing more modern

and efficient production methods . This enabled further developments into a wide range of products – specifically clay quarry tiles .
The research and development into local clays and modern firing techniques served as the foundation for building a large , specialised plant five years ago . This facility combines manual labour and machinery for hand-setting different products , fired in a multi-tunnelled push bat kiln to achieve rich , natural colours .
This expansion also marks Claytile ’ s transition into Klay , with its existing brick range being rebranded as Klay Brick and the designer terracotta range named Klay Concept .
Klay Concept : Growing Product Family With over 50 years of brick making experience and advancements in technology , Klay broadened their range to include more decorative architectural products .
The new range includes screen blocks , linear bricks , floor tiling in diverse sizes and shapes , and a selection of wall cladding . The range is offered in smooth or textured finishes and available in
