The old cellar spaces of the heritage building have been transformed into a trendy night club , to be named the Quarter Club . The mixed use program required a cross-sectional ‘ jig-saw ’ of spaces that mediated all the perimeter conditions , including , for example :
• An urban condition along Main Street
• Cascading section and elevation treatments given a 6m drop across the site and along the Strand Street frontage
• A seaside resort-like condition facing the ocean
The portal entrance is receded from this street edge and forms a gradual procession as one moves from the street to the sidewalk ,
