Urban Design Group of Plett on the upgrading of Main Street for the Bitou Municipality . The accommodation mix and permutations needed to be studied , developed and tested along the way until the brief settled into place as the commercial pre-letting and residential pre-sales process gained momentum .
The Design The Plett Quarter is expressed as a collection of different buildings and building elements that break it down into the grain of the Main Street urban fabric . It reflects a thought process of ‘ unity in diversity ’, linking together diverse formal concepts along the perimeter . The building harmoniously integrates with the established horizontal and open nature of the façades prevalent in the CBD . Progressing the existing urban character of active frontages , the building is designed to integrate and engage with the pedestrian-friendly Main Street , enhancing the sidewalk with an eclectic shopping experience ,
