Designed by Leon Jacobs Architects , the look and feel of the single level mall takes inspiration from the theme of a Bushveld Oasis and echoes the surrounding landscape with its trees , succulents and rock formations . This is evident in the organic patterns found in the ceiling design , bulkheads and branding elements as well as the colour palette of sunset reds and shades of grey . Large artificial trees within the mall emphasise the bushveld theme whilst also imparting a feeling
of shade and coolness . The centre faces north with attention being paid to the shading of the building from the early eastern sun as well as the harsh western sun . This was especially important given the extreme summer temperatures in the region . The semi-covered food court that offers protection from the elements borders onto a garden and children ’ s play area with a interactive water feature . The emphasis is again on shading and imparting a sense of coolness .
