The new Commerce , Law and Management Faculty Administration Building is located on the West Campus of the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg ( WITS ). It is located in Johannesburg ’ s historical showground precinct dating back to 1907 , with some of the Victorian buildings from that era still present . The showgrounds were later transformed into the present-day University campus , now populated with different building styles from the different eras .
Background and Brief The architects , MMA Design Studio , have worked with WITS for around twenty years and were guided by a Precinct Plan that addresses the buildings on the existing campus and identifies the future requirements of the University . A space planning audit identified the need to accommodate the changing and growing requirements of
