T
he Odyssey is a premier apartment building situated in Green Point, Cape Town.
Developed by the Berman Bros Group and designed by MLB Architects, The
Odyssey reflects the contemporary lifestyle sought after by those living on the
Atlantic Seaboard.
Location
The building is located on Main Road in Green Point and directly overlooks the Green
Point Urban Park. The design makes the most of panoramic sea and mountain views. The
location allows for immediate access to outdoor activities in the adjacent park and along
the seafront promenade.
Design
The Odyssey consists of a total of 58 apartments, comprising 1, 2 and 3 bedrooms, as
well as a 4 bed penthouse. The apartments range in size from 40 to 396m2.
There is a long rectangular form to the building that extends 9 floors from the ground
at the front and 6 floors from the ground at the rear. The building envelope is shaped at
basement level by the location of two existing oak trees, one on the western boundary
and one on the eastern boundary. The necessary setback for these trees allowed for the
provision of garden space at ground level. The upper levels are also set back at the sides
to allow for the retention of the trees.
