s the year ever so slowly draws to a close, I am feeling particularly
weary at the moment. It might have something to do with the
fact that my son is currently writing his mock matric exams and
they will be followed by his finals – a very stressful time for
the entire family! I am digging deep and finding the energy to
encourage and bolster him while he concentrates on finishing his school career
on a good note.

deal of construction and building work is on the go in South Africa - well, if the
numerous events to which my colleague, Louise, and I are invited is any indication,
the business of building is booming. We recently had the privilege of attending

This edition sees a number of great projects. The Odyssey, in Green Point, is
a trendy new apartment building in a modern, sophisticated design. 102 Rivonia
Road in Sandton is the new head office for Ernst & Young. The building design has
already achieved recognition at the World Architecture Festival held in October
2012 in Singapore, where the project was shortlisted for an award in the Future
