There is very strong branding in the design
of the building and the interiors, where the
building also acts as a billboard for the busy
Rivonia Road.
During the project, an adjacent portion of
land was purchased by Afrihost, which is being
used for additional parking and for future
expansion. The houses were demolished, but
great care was taken to preserve the large,
established trees on both sites. An extension
to the existing building was also added to the
brief, to allow for future expansion.
The new office building accommodates
the entire head office facility under one roof.
All aspects of the business are incorporated,
including a call centre, a client services centre,
a staff gym, recreational area, staff café and
catering kitchen, stockrooms, servers and
build rooms in addition to offices for training,
server administration, the brand team
and directors.
The building is staffed 24 hours a day, so
consideration was given to night time users
too. A total of 270 staff can be accommodated,
