New Products Launched
BEKA Schréder has been fortunate to
have experienced exceptional growth

over the past 35 years, which can mainly
be attributed to our commitment
in designing and supplying quality
lighting products. We have designed
and manufactured more than eight new
LED lighting products during the past
12 months.
One that we are particularly excited
about is the Zela LED post top luminaire.
Like most of our products, it has been
designed and manufactured in South
Africa, and provides a new contemporary
design
using
state-of-the-art
LED
technology. The Zela is characterised
by its distinct flat, conical diffuser,
made possible by the utilization of LED
technology. In addition, the fins add
elegance by continuing the flow of the line
of the pole. This versatile new luminaire
is suitable for general road lighting, area
lighting, parks and gardens, and security
lighting, amongst other applications.
It is designed to replace HID post top
luminaires (up to 100W HPS and 125W MV)
with an energy saving of up to 70%.
This product is already being
embraced by the market. We recently
won the tender for Phase 2 of a major
energy efficiency programme in the
Western Cape, where we will be supplying
570 Zela luminaires, amongst other
LED luminaires. Swartland Municipality

launched the first phase to replace
existing luminaires with more energy
efficient fixtures, which BEKA Schréder
won as well. After this implementation,
the municipality was convinced of the
performance of the LED luminaires
which were supplied during Phase 1, and
subsequently launched Phase 2.
Locally Designed and Manufactured
BEKA Schréder is a very proud South
African manufacturer of lighting products.
We believe in broad based economic
empowerment and therefore utilise local
suppliers for all products and castings that
can be sourced locally. We are constantly
working on new technologies and
products through our local R&D centre.
We have been expanding and upgrading
our production facility over the past two
years to cope with the ever increasing
demand and change to new technology.
