Decks4Life Adds Value at WEX 1 There is just something special about wood. People love the natural feel and warmth that timber can bring. D ecks4Life is proud to have been able to install more large areas where people can gather to relax & enjoy each others company at WEX1 apartments & Stock Exchange. Decks4Life was overjoyed to be selected to supply & install decking to both atria and the large pool entertainment area with amazing views. Having been part of a winning formula at the Century City Urban Square, we knew that Vivid Architects, Mark Saacks Projects and the professional team would be looking for top quality materials and workmanship, delivered on time. The scope of works soon increased to include many free standing benches for the interior designers, Tracy-Lee Lynch Studios, as well as, a number of planter boxes for landscape architects Planning Partners. The materials specified for use were sustainably sourced hardwoods for the decks and locally produced, treated SA Pine for the substructure. IPE decking, a very hard & durable hardwood was used at the ground floor entrances which will see very high traffic. Garapa decking was used for all other areas with the floor surfaces receiving an oil application to nourish the wood and aide with protection from spills. Over 650m² of hardwood decking was installed using over 35 000 stainless steel decking screws, each of which were individually plugged to have a clean finish without visible fixings The experience & dedication of the Decks4Life staff showed in the planning & installation of multiple areas. Key aspects to a quality installation include attention to detail in mitered edges, consistent margins and straight deck planks over long lengths. Working & communicating well with the main contractor, Haw & Inglis, we were able to achieve our goal on time. 66 Advertorial
