I
like to think that Architect and Builder punches above its weight in the publishing
industry. We are not part of a stable of titles owned by a large publishing house. We
are a family run publisher that concentrates exclusively on Architect and Builder.
Between my husband and I we are responsible for every aspect of the title. As a
result I deal with our readers and clients on multiple levels – from sourcing new
projects, editing material, selling advertising space to phoning a client up when they
don’t pay their bill! Wearing many hats means that I am interacting daily with the
industry on multiple levels and that’s the way I like it as it makes sure I keep my ear
to the ground and am on top of the latest trends, projects and products.

Valuable sources of information are the many Public Relations firms I deal with daily.
I have recently noticed that a number of PR firms have lost some Built Environment

suitability. They should be chatting to me to find out what I’m working on and how they

that imagery is professional and supplied immediately in a high resolution format. I
don’t have time to run after PR firms who send images that can’t be used immediately.
