Leading the Way in Lighting for the Commercial Environment Regent Lighting Solutions’ offers a wide range of lighting that can be customised and even specially manufactured to meet the most demanding of project requirements. R egent Lighting Solutions have once again been specified as the lighting supplier of choice on 3 projects in this issue of Architect and Builder. EMBASSY TOWERS Sandton Embassy Towers in Sandhurst is an exclusive apartment building in the heart of Sandton CBD. This attractive building can be seen towering over the Sandton skyline. Together with GLH Architects, One Zero Electrical Engineers & Paul Pamboukian & Associates, Regent Lighting Solutions (RLS) supplied lighting to accentuate the building from roof to ground level. The façade is dramatically enhanced with RLS’s LED cove lighting IP Rated at 14W/m LED 2700K as well as the Beam Double 2 x 32W LED 3000 wall mounted fittings accentuating the architectural lines of the façade. The parking areas feature the Piazza which is specifically implemented in all street, parking area & landscape applications. This fitting is post mounted to a height of 3.5m to 5m and designed to operate a range of LED’s up to 48W with various modular optical lenses. This unique application incorporated camera surveillance on all Piazza Post Top poles surrounding the building. The Piazza Post Top is a 17W LED 3000K with Camera mounting. In-house capabilities enabled RLS to adapt an original fitting to suit the requirement for integrating surveillance and lighting. The pedestrian bollards surrounding the walkways mimic this design style by using the Piazza bollard 9W LED 3000K. The landscape and planter boxes at the exterior feature numerous fittings including the Gamma trunion, Kevo trunion, Bilux Inground, Brite 50 Inground and Eclipse. 38 The building entrance overhang features the recessed Floren 30° 40W LED 3000K as well as Special Brite 50 3W 3000K 46° fittings. The Interior Luminaires supplied on this project were Linear Micro 1,000mm 23W/m LED 3000K, Linear Mini 1,20 0mm 16W LED sur face mounted with Jura 1007 tracklights 18W LED 4000K to showcase the wall art throughout the interior. The apartment interiors have a recessed panel in the ceiling that house the Kalypso Single & Double surface mounted luminaires adjustable on the vertical and horizontal plane. NO.1 MUTUAL PLACE Sandton RLS, in conjunction with CKR Consulting E n g i n e e r s a n d LY T A rc h i te c t s , specifically designed and manufactured an integrated lighting solution with Surveillance & Router accessibility for No. 1 Mutual Place in Sandton and the park surrounding the building. The lighting in the park itself features a variance of 3 to 4 Sputnik fittings mounted at different heights on a single pole with precisely 90º & 120º spacing’s in order to ensure even light distribution. The poles are manufactured specifically to enable mounting of CCT V & Wifi Router brackets at a 3m mounting height as well as double access doors for both data and power access. The base of each pole incorporated customised rotatable bases that enable custom selection of mounting angles & positions for both CCT V cameras and light fitting along the horizontal plane without the need to reposition the luminaires themselves. RLS’s Roto-Spigot Bracket used for both the Sputnik 32w and Lumina 54w fittings enable rotation on the vertical plane. This is a unique mounting application that provides accessibility, flexibility and integration. The lighting on the streets surrounding the building have been similarly adapted to enable the 6m poles the ability to mount a Lumina 54W fitting for street lighting purposes along with 2 Sputnik 32W fittings spaced 120 degrees from the Lumina at different heights for pedestrian walkway lighting. LOFTUS PARK Pretoria RLS together with electrical engineers Pienaar & Erwee were required to supply lighting for both the open-air Piazza as well as all parking areas. The requirements were the need for lighting that is warm and welcoming, accentuates the landscape and architecture, and at the same time meeting the desired levels in each of the designated areas. Cost efficiency was a top priority and so for the exterior parking areas the Rhoda LED Post Top 48W 4000K was selected, mounted on a double curved galvanised pole at 3m & 5m heights, as well as the Thia Bollard 4000K 15W LED were used. The Thia Bollard was also supplied without a light source as a pedestrian bollard for the walkways surrounding the parking area. For the Open-Air Piazza RLS supplied the Brite 130 Inground 12W LED 15º with colour changing RGBW inground LEDS and a DMX controller, Brite 100 Inground 8W LED 10º 3000K, Tula 1 wall mounted 4000k LED and Tula 2 wall mounted 4000k LED both IP65. We also supplied the Shuttle T/M Black 18W LED 3000K. Advertorial
