INTERIOR FEATURE PREMIER HEAD OFFICE INTERIOR DESIGN: dhk PHOTOGRAPHY: Wieland Gleich F ounded in 1852, Premier has recently undergone a series of changes, expanding from its traditional milling and baking business into other industries with the intention to become a leading FMCG player. Premier took the opportunity to revamp its corporate identity at the same time. No longer simply a food company, Premier has dropped the Food suffix and shortened its trading name to just Premier. New Identity and Offices The new identity, along with new headquarters in Waterfall City designed by dhk, is the embodiment of these changes. “We are all about growing together – our employees, our shareholders, our customers and, above all, the community in which we live” says Premier’s CEO, Tjaart Kruger. Premier’s strategic intent and 92 brand promise of growing together, is reflected in the updated corporate identity, and this was carried across to the design of the new office space. The office move was necessary to accommodate a quickly growing team, with a more diverse portfolio. dhk carried out a detailed space analysis at the then existing Isando offices, to accurately gauge requirements for the new space and accommodate plans for future growth. Based on this information, a building was found for Premier in the Maxwell Office Park, a green development in Johannesburg’s Waterfall City. “The move to the new offices came at a time when the business had not only grown out of the old premises, but also when we needed to adjust to the new strategy and broader industry participation,” said Kruger.
