enprop Property Holdings and Rewardsco collaborated as joint venture partners for
the development of this new landmark office located in Ridgeside, Umhlanga. The
brief required a consolidation of Rewardsco’s various operations, housed in scattered
locations, into a single cohesive and well designed work environment. Rewardsco’s hugely
successful primary business is high volume outsourced and proprietary sales largely through
telesales based distribution. While similar businesses are traditionally housed in low key
structures within fringe business parks, it was Rewardsco forward thinking vision which
prompted the relocation to a site within “the heart of the action”, as well as a building
design which would provide an inspirational work environment for its employees. In an
industry renowned for high staff turnover, the desire to create a work environment which
increases employee retention adds economic value to this decision.
Site
The site is located within Zenprop’s existing development at the north of the Ridgeside
office precinct. Rewardsco is the fourth development within this property and, from the
outset, Rewardsco requested the corner portion of the site fronting the prominent Umhlanga
Rocks Drive intersection. The site enjoys not only extensive road frontage but, from this
elevated location, panoramic view to Umhlanga Rocks and the coastline to the north. In
recognition of the site’s prestigious location, the Joint Venture requested that the building
be a landmark of iconic status.
