outward-facing façades, versus the softer, more transparent surfaces that enclose the courtyard. This duality reinforces the architectural narrative of shelter and exposure, solidity and openness.
Overview of Building Access and Surrounding Public Spaces As one of the first three structures to be developed on the new campus, this building plays a pivotal role in shaping the emerging academic environment. Positioned as the southern counterpart of a symmetrical pair flanking the formal landscaped square in front of the new Great
Hall, its site and massing were guided by the Urban Design Framework established by the Campus Architect.
Access to the building is thoughtfully articulated. The primary entrance, serving office spaces and laboratories, is located at the northeast corner, facing the main approach road that connects the West Campus precinct to the wider campus. This deliberate position fosters a strong visual and spatial connection with the square, the heart of this campus. Meanwhile, lecture halls and the courtyard are accessed via entrances on the lower ground on the north, south, and west sides,
