Lilly May represents yet another bold transformation of a tired, underused city building into something vibrant, functional, and future-facing. What was once a nondescript seven-storey office block is now set to become an impressive nine-storey development, breathing new life into a key part of the city. Designed by Bruce Wilson Architects, this project showcases how thoughtful, design-led conversions can turn vacant structures into meaningful urban assets.
Key design interventions include street-facing balconies on every level, which animate the façade and encourage a stronger connection with the surrounding heritage-rich streetscape. The ground level has been reimagined to support a lively café culture, with an expanded pedestrian-friendly area
that invites public interaction. Technically, the building uses a lightweight, intelligent structural solution that supports a rooftop pool, an amenity that enhances the lifestyle offering without compromising the building’ s integrity. With approvals now secured and construction starting later this year, Lilly May is another prime example of how the collaboration of Revo Property and Bruce Wilson Architects continues to reimagine and revitalise the urban fabric.
Offering a selection of studio and one-bedroom apartments( 54 studios and 6 one-bedroom units), Lilly May, located at 17 Buitenkant Street, redefines effortless city living, with sleek kitchens, luxury finishes, and bespoke interiors. The units are fully managed, with optional furniture packs designed by Maison & Marble for hassle-free ownership. With the development set for completion in Q1 2027, residents will enjoy a fully serviced building with a vibrant ground-floor café and bar, as well as exclusive access to a private rooftop pool, entertainment deck and clubhouse.
