Revolutionising Agricultural Infrastructure Central to this transformation is the MIFPM ’ s cutting-edge infrastructure , which surpasses international standards . The market features expansive trading halls for a diverse range of produce including fruit and vegetables . Equipped with state-of-the-art cold storage , ripening and processing facilities , MIFPM guarantees the delivery of top-quality produce to markets worldwide . The site may also house innovative agri-hubs run by secondary cooperatives that support small farmers with essential collation and packhouse services , however this has yet to be confirmed .
Enza Construction has played a pivotal role in bringing this transformative project to life . With an estimated project cost of R1.5 billion Ex VAT , Enza Construction is responsible for the development of the 17 buildings that make up MIFPM . Key structures include Building 10 , the Main Market , covering 30,000m 2 , and Building 11 , the Processing Facility , spanning 10,000m ².
Enza Construction ’ s expertise is particularly evident in Building 7 , the 140m long Pedestrian Bridge , a striking cable suspension bridge designed to seamlessly connect commuters to the main market without crossing roadways or parkades .
