The construction of a new 163,783m2 distribution centre ( DC ) to replace Pick n Pay ’ s existing DC operations and three smaller facilities was recently completed . This is the largest DC in South Africa and services all of Pick n Pay ’ s Inland stores . It is situated within Eastport Logistics Park , the flagship logistics development of Fortress Real Estate Investments , along the R21 in Kempton Park . The current estimated total cost of the development , including capitalised interest , is in the region of R2.13 billion , consistent with the initial cost estimates .

The facility incorporates expansion plans , future customer demand , and will hugely increase stock deliveries to stores while being able to hold slower moving lines , giving customers an extensive , but tailored product range without additional distribution costs .
