As a global snacks and beverages company , PepsiCo is all about creating joyful moments by bringing smiles ‘ with every sip and every bite ’, and their exceptional new address at 144 Oxford Road in Rosebank brings people together in this very spirit .
Current research within the Tétris Design & Build Group highlights the growing impetus for companies to find engaging design solutions that reflect value to returning employees demonstrated in three areas ; health and wellbeing , technological connectivity and collaborative flexibility . These design drivers were evident before the pandemic yet now have more impetus than ever before .
The design of the Pepsico space embraced these principles prior to lockdown . The What ’ s your flavour ? conceptual design centers around individuality and changing occasions , as they relate both to the snack and meal times which the company caters for , as well as the occasion-based needs of employees in modern-day agile workspaces , enabling activity-based working in “ neighbourhoods ”, which allow for a variety of workspaces for specific tasks . Two dome-shaped seating booths , carved from raw timber , form the centerpiece of the office and are designed to replicate PepsiCo ’ s iconic globe logo symbol .
The crisp lines of the space are juxtaposed by art pieces produced by local artists using PepsiCo recycled materials , reflecting PepsiCo ’ s commitment to Winning with Purpose and supporting sound environmental practices . The custom artworks include graffiti walls and a mixed media mural entitled You ’ re it ! by Vera Schmidt , made using bottle caps and colourful crisp
