2019 & 2020
Corobrik Student
Architecture Awards
Since 1986 , the Corobrik Student Architecture Awards has placed 34 winners on the architectural map , both in leading firms , and even resulting in them establishing their own practices . There are no design parameters , just exposure and the recognition of being associated with such a prestigious awards programme . The finalists are selected by the architectural schools of the major universities , while the judges are chosen by the South African Institute of Architects . The Corobrik Student Architecture Awards are all about building our local industry and designing tomorrow . Finalists and winners are guaranteed a jumpstart to a successful career in the profession of their choice . For Corobrik itself , it has been a decades-long journey of inspiration , creativity and innovation .
The 2019 and 2020 Corobrik Student Architecture Awards were combined into a single hybrid event that took place on 10 June . The eight regional winners from each year presented their theses virtually to an esteemed panel of judges in a Johannesburg studio , from where the winners were selected .
