And , while the glass adds to user comfort by including natural light , outside views , and a general feeling of openness internally , the reflective surfaces wreak havoc with acoustics . Specialised acoustic glass was specified between the viewing walkways and the laboratories , and various acoustic treatments
on other surfaces have had to be incorporated to mitigate the effects of the glass .
Sustainability The building achieved a 4-Star Green Star Rating for the design ( PEB v1 ), but , having narrowly missed a 5-Star Rating , some additional elements are being added in the hopes of achieving an As Built 5-Star rating . The focuses on environmental
