ALLESVERLOREN VILLAGE . RIEBEECK WEST
Allesverloren Village is situated right beside the world renowned Allesverloren Wine Estate in Riebeeck West . Surrounded by breath-taking views of the surrounding mountain ranges , it stands to reason that this is the perfect location for a relaxing retirement environment .
Developed by Noble Resorts and designed by bau Architects , the development contains beautifully manicured public spaces ; top-end medical and public entertainment facilities along with a variety of housing types for buyers to choose from - thus comprising of a near perfect ratio of green spaces to built form which directly relates to the low density town fabric that Riebeeck West encompasses . Trees have been carefully positioned so as to not obstruct any views throughout the development . Paved pedestrian pathways run throughout the estate for one to take in the beautiful landscaping and spectacular views during their long walk or it can also be used as a jogging route for the more athletic individual .
The spatial planning of the estate was inspired by distinguishable farm-style typologies commonly associated with vernacular Cape Dutch Architecture . This is further evident towards the bottom of the site through the use of typical spatial design elements such as the main building being the focal point of the establishment ( landmark ); a generous central park
( werf ); green squares ( buitehof ); courtyards ( binnehof ) and lastly a village composition which frames spaces either by the landscape or the buildings .
Architectural elements such as gable ends , roofs , windows and doors have been altered in their materiality and design in order to have a more modern appearance and functionality whilst still keeping in line with the vernacular style of Cape Dutch Architecture . Open-plan living spaces have been incorporated within each building design along with high ceiling volumes , where one can choose between two ( dark or light ) interior design colour schemes , ‘ Grape ’ or ‘ Olive ’, which are inspired by the existing wine farm that the development is situated upon .
