Frost International Celebrates 48 Years of Opening Doors
Frost International has evolved over the years to become a leading specialist contractor in Entrance and Security Solutions throughout the Sub Saharan African region.
In January 1970, Hugh( Jack) Frost opened Jack Frost Cape Town Pty LTD, the first suspended ceiling company in the Western Cape, in a garage in Maitland. Included in their offering were ceilings, drywall and demountable partitioning and later additions included access flooring, EIFS wall cladding, acoustic operable walls, roofing and internal refurbishment subcontracting, and the now well established partnership with Boon Edam and their revolving door products.
In 1999, the company started trading as Frost International and became known as a‘ specialist contractor’ as it moved out of the ceiling and partitioning business to focus on Entrance Solutions. The distribution agreement with Boon Edam grew from strength to strength after the initial contact in 1992, with Frost being one of the top 3 world-wide distributors for many years, and is now one of the longest established distributors for Boon Edam, looking after the Sub Saharan African region.
In 2004, Frost International launched the Frost Automatic, the only South African designed, developed and manu-factured automatic sliding door operator in the market. Creating local employment and opportunities is a cause that CEO, Mike Frost, is passionate about and the company looks to assist NGO’ s especially in the Vrygrond / Capricorn area. A full range of automatic doors, from revolving to standard automatic sliding, telescopic configuration and auto swing door operators is available.
Situated in Capricorn Business Park outside Cape Town and with regional offices in Gauteng, Frost International is able to service the two main hubs in South Africa with ease, as well as being able to move quickly to other regions.
One of the products that the Frost team kept on board is the Hufcor Acoustic Operable Wall product. Manufactured by Ifuba in KZN, Frost International is their sole distributor and installation company in the Western & Southern Cape region, reaching up as far as Port Elizabeth.
As Boon Edam expanded its product range to include high end, high security doors, so Frost entered the Security Solutions market, backed up by the high quality of Dutch engineering. This includes the Boon Edam Speedlanes- waist high security pedestrian lanes.
“ There are various configurations to choose from in this range to ensure we are capable of addressing any clients’ requirements,” commented Commercial Manager, Graeme Stevens.“ We have a Security Solution for many different requirements, from high level high security for corporate applications, to high level turnstiles for more industrial solutions, as well as a range of waist high solutions in varying budgets to accommodate various applications, he said.”
The Frost International team has the technical experience and knowledge for any Entrance and Security solution and consider themselves as experts in the industry.
